Avocados
Persea americana, popularly known as avocado or avocado, is an arboreal species of the genus Persea belonging to the family Lauraceae. The species is grown in tropical and Mediterranean climates all over the world.
The fruit is a large yellow-green or reddish-brown drupe, usually pear-shaped, sometimes ovoid or globose, 8-18 cm long with corky epicarp, more or less tuberculate, and fleshy and edible mesocarp. The latter closely surrounds a globular seed of episperma (tegument) papyraceous, without endosperm, about 5-6 cm.
Mangoes
The mango is a fruit of the Intertropical Zone of fleshy and sweet pulp. It emphasizes among its main characteristics its good flavor.
Said pulp may or may not be fibrous, the variety called the mango of which is the largest amount of fiber. It is a normally green fruit at first, and yellow, orange and even red-garnet when ripe, medium-acid flavor when it has not fully ripened.
Potatoes
The potato (Solanum tuberosum) is a species of herbaceous plant belonging to the genus Solanum of the Solanaceae family native to South America1 and cultivated worldwide for its edible tubers.
It was domesticated in the Andean plateau by its inhabitants about 8000 years ago, and was later taken to Europe by the Spanish conquistadors as a botanical curiosity rather than as a food plant. Its consumption was growing and its cultivation spread to all the world until becoming today one of the main foods for the human being.
